FAQ

What is an Orthodontist?
An Orthodontist is a dental specialist who has devoted an extra 2-3 years of training to correcting bite and jaw problems, and to straightening the teeth of children and adults.

Why do I need braces?
The most important reason to have braces is for dental health. If your teeth do not line up properly in a good biting position (called malocclusion), tooth decay and gum disease can develop.

Another important reason is your appearance. The relationship between your upper and lower teeth has an effect on the way you look, and a well-balanced face will help improve your overall appearance.

When should I start treatment?
Exactly when you begin treatment depends on your particular problem and your dental development. A visit to the Orthodontist around age 7 or 8 will help you and your parents start to plan your course of treatment.

How long will treatment last?
Orthodontic treatment doesn't work overnight. There is usually a 2 to 3 year period of active treatment, followed by a time of retention. During this time it is in your best interest to wear your orthodontic appliances faithfully as your orthodontist advises, and to keep your regular appointments.

Is there a charge for the initial exam?
No, the initial exam is free!

What insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most insurance plans available in the Kentucky, Indiana, and Tenessee areas.

Do you require a down payment?
We do not require a down payment with approved credit. Your low monthly payments are spread over the treatment schedule.
